TELL GEORGE W. BUSH / AND WE THOUGHT YOU WERE OUR FRIEND!? 0

TELL GEORGE W. BUSH AND THE ENTIRE WORLD THAT WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR HOMELAND!
Dear Friends of Israel,

We cannot allow the Israeli government to maintain the illusion that it is acting in the interests of the Jewish People. The Olmert government no longer even feels obliged to safeguard the lives and property of its own Jewish citizens.

The population of Sderot and the Western Negev remains under constant missile attack, and the Jews expelled from Gush Katif continue to languish in refugee camps. How does the government respond?

It releases from prison Arab terrorists to continue their ‘War against the Jews’. It arms them and grants them international legitimacy!  In addition, the government plans to abandon to the Arab enemy large parts of Biblical Israel, i.e. Judea and Samaria and parts of Jerusalem. Most unbelievably, it persecutes those Jews who try to oppose these policies.

Following the crime of the Gush Katif expulsion and its aftermath, an array of extra-parliamentary groups have joined together with the understanding that the focus of the struggle must be the Land of Israel and our G-d given right to our Homeland.

It is clear to us that if the government succeeds in its strategic goal of breaking the settlement enterprise, both its spirit and its physical hold on the land, it will succeed in all its goals: in creating a ‘Palestinian’ state and in turning Israel into ‘a state of all its citizens’ plans that will spell the destruction of Israel. For the last two years we have been acting ceaselessly to thwart the government’s plans by creating new settlements and strengthening existing ones. In the process, we are empowering the youth and a new generation of leadership and fostering a spirit of determined opposition in Israel, that will not be cowed by government threats or violence.

With George W. Bush’s planned visit to Israel in January, in which he will pressure the Olmert government to stop building the Land of Israel and even to divide it, it is essential that we broadcast to the entire world the message of Jewish steadfastness and loyalty to the entire Land of Israel.

We must disregard any pressures that are brought upon us, whether from abroad or from our own government.

YOUR HELP IS ESSENTIAL FOR US TO SUCCEED. TUESDAY, JANUARY 8th, 2008, IS PROBABLY THE DAY OF PRESIDENT BUSH’S VISIT TO JERUSALEM. ON THAT DAY WE WILL START A MASS PUBLIC BUILDING CAMPAIGN FOCUSING ON JUDEA AND SAMARIA.

WE WILL MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO HAR CHOMA, IN JERUSALEM, at 5:00 p.m.
(By the way, for your information, the real name of Har Choma is Chomat Shmuel).

At this strategic and currently in the news location, public figures, rabbis and activists will declare that “THERE IS NO LAND OF ISRAEL WITHOUT JERUSALEM AND THERE IS NO JERUSALEM WITHOUT THE LAND OF ISRAEL.
THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL ARE SOVEREIGN IN THEIR LAND AND THEIR CAPITAL - WE WILL CONTINUE TO BUILD, SETTLE AND EXPAND.”

At the end of the short speeches, trucks filled with building materials will lead the convoy of supporters to destinations all over Judea and Samaria to continue building and strengthening the Jewish presence there.

HELP US SAVE THE LAND OF ISRAEL  BY SPONSORING A TRUCK FILLED WITH BUILDING MATERIALS!

(We currently have families and individuals manning the new hilltop settlements we have set up this past Hanukka living in very harsh conditions. We also have more families ready to settle additional hilltops.

The cinder blocks, cement mixers, generators, tools, mixing troughs, sacks of sand, gravel, cement, tin
sheeting for roofing, sewage pipes, chemical toilets, water pipes, doors, windows, wood planks, iron netting for pouring cement, buckets, and other building materials that will be on the trucks, will enable us to build them all proper shelter.)

THE TOTAL COST PER TRUCK IS $5,000.

If we can raise the funds for 10 trucks, it will make an impression. IF WE CAN FUND EVEN MORE TRUCKS, IT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO BROADCAST TO THE WORLD OUR MESSAGE THAT THE JEWISH PEOPLE WILL NEVER ABANDON ZION.

The trucks will be decorated with signs announcing the name of the supporters both here in Israel and abroad who are sponsoring the building campaign, emphasizing that the Jews living in Israel’s Biblical heartland have the support of friends from all over the world.

There is very little time left to organize this big event. We call upon all of you to donate generously. Please forward this email to family members, friends, community email lists, and whoever else might be willing to help.

It is of utmost importance that a large crowd join the gathering in Chomat Shmuel (Har Choma). We trust you to help this important endeavor by spreading the word.

AND WE THOUGHT YOU WERE OUR FRIEND!?
Letter from Ruth and Nadia Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Wednesday, December 26, 2007

Dear Friends,

Yesterday we sent you an important e-mail on the following subject: TELL GEORGE W. BUSH AND THE ENTIRE WORLD THAT WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR HOME LAND!

Please read yesterday’s e-mail carefully.

Baruch Hashem, we have already received a pledge for one truck. This is a wonderful start, but in addition we need money for more trucks and also for advertising in the local papers, for buses to bring people to the event, for lighting and a sound system at the site, etc. If you can help us financially to make this event a success, you will help save the Land of Israel. We must avert the tragedy of a United States president dividing the Holy Land and giving Judea and Samaria, the biblical heartland of the Jewish people, to the Arab enemy for his own strategic interests.

Today, one of the many replies that I received said as follows: ”Just remember, you told everyone to vote for the mamzer”. (The Hebrew English dictionary and the Internet dictionary translate this Hebrew word as ‘bastard’). Since the elections of 2004 when I asked people to vote for Bush, rather than Kerry, I have received many letters with this message, although not in such crude language.

This message is unfortunately justified. I am guilty as charged! It turned out that my advice was wrong and downright harmful. George W. Bush has shown himself not to be a friend of the Jewish people, and most definitely not a friend of the Jewish State of Israel. He is the first and only U.S. president who has wanted to divide the Jewish State, and to create a Muslim terrorist state in the biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria.

I really should have paid more attention to the Bush family’s background. Although many sources deny that this family was actually anti-Semitic, Bush’s father was definitely anti-Israeli and pro Arab, a bias that colored American oil and arms policy in the Middle East to the great detriment of Israel.

Bush’s opponent in the presidential race, John Kerry, was very open about his antagonism toward Israel and his views on the Arab-Israeli conflict. In his January 26, 2004, speech in New Hampshire, Kerry blamed Israel for all the problems in the Middle East and condemned the very existence of Jewish communities in the biblical lands of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

George W. Bush, on the other hand, did not express his anti-Israel or pro-Arab bias. That is exactly the reason, why, despite his family’s background, I voted for Bush in 2004 and encouraged others to do the same.

It is incredible and sad, that Kerry’s ideas are the exact ideas adopted by President George W. Bush today, in the year 2007.

It is exactly to strongly discourage him of these ideas that we have planned the start of a mass public building campaign focusing on Judea and Samaria upon his arrival. We plan to bring a convoy of trucks loaded with building materials to the young courageous pioneers in Judea and Samaria. This event is meant to strongly convey our message to George W. Bush and the entire world.

WE WILL NEVER SURRENDER OUR HOME LAND!

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth and Nadia Matar

Post Script

CLARIFICATION of the ‘welcome’ we prepare for George Bush:

Yesterday we gave you the details about our plans for Bush’s visit in Jerusalem. We told you the gathering at Har Choma will be on Tuesday, January 8th, 2008. We will accompany the trucks filled with building materials to different locations in Judea and Samaria.

A few of you responded that according to their information, Bush was coming on Wednesday, the 9th, and asked us whether we should not change the date of our gathering.

The truth is that we got conflicting reports as to when exactly Bush would arrive and therefore decided to play it safe and have the event on Tuesday evening. We are not changing the date.

If Tuesday is the day Bush will be in Jerusalem that is good. If he will only arrive on Wednesday then it will be even better. On Wednesday morning Bush and Co. will hopefully read in the newspapers about our activities that took place the evening before, and that please G-d will continue to take place on Wednesday all over Judea and Samaria.

The only little change we made is that we are calling for the people to arrive at Har Choma at 6:00pm and not at 5:00pm as mentioned yesterday.

TAXPAYER MONEY FUNDS PALESTINIAN TERRORISM 0

Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, December 20, 2007

Dear Friends,

Today I feel obliged to send you very worrisome information. Please pay serious attention to the following article by Daniel Pipes, who is the Director of the Middle East Forum ( www.DanielPipes.org).

Fund the Palestinians? Bad idea
Daniel Pipes, THE JERUSALEM POST
December 20, 2007
Lavishing funds on Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian Authority to achieve peace has been a mainstay of Western, including Israeli, policy since Hamas seized Gaza in June. But this open spigot has counterproductive results and urgently must be stopped.

Some background: Paul Morro of the Congressional Research Service reports that, in 2006, the European Union and its member states gave $815 million to the Palestinian Authority, while the United States sent it $468 million. When other donors are included, the total receipts come to about $1.5 billion.

The windfall keeps growing. President George W. Bush requested a $410 million supplement in October, beyond a $77 million donation earlier in the year. The State Department justifies this lordly sum on the grounds that it “supports a critical and immediate need to support a new Palestinian Authority (PA) government that both the US and Israel view as a true ally for peace.” At a recent hearing, Gary Ackerman, chairman of the House Subcommittee on the Middle East and South Asia, endorsed the supplemental donation.

Not content with spending taxpayer money, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice launched a “U.S.-Palestinian Public Private Partnership” on Dec. 3, involving financial heavyweights such as Sandy Weill and Lester Crown, to fund, as Rice put it, “projects that reach young Palestinians directly, that prepare them for responsibilities of citizenship and leadership can have an enormous, positive impact.”

One report suggests the European Union has funneled nearly $2.5 billion to the Palestinians this year.

Looking ahead, Abbas announced a goal to collect pledges of $5.8 billion in aid for a three-year period, 2008-10, at the “Donors’ Conference for the Palestinian Authority” attended by over 90 states on Monday in Paris. (Using the best population estimate of 1.35 million Palestinians on the West Bank, this comes to a staggering amount of money: per capita, over $1,400 per year, or about what an Egyptian earns annually.)

Endorsed by the Israeli government, Abbas won pledges for an astonishing $7.4 billion (or over $1,800 per capita per year) at the donors’ conference.

WELL, IT’S a bargain if it works, right? A few billion to end a dangerous, century-old conflict - it’s actually a steal.

But innovative research by Steven Stotsky, a research analyst for the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) finds that an influx of money to the Palestinians has had the opposite effect historically. Relying on World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and other official statistics, Stotsky compares two figures since 1999: budgetary support aid provided annually to the Palestinian Authority and the number of Palestinian homicides annually (including both criminal and terrorist activities, and both Israeli and Palestinian victims). Graphed together, the two figures show an uncanny echo: In brief, each $1.25 million or so of budgetary support aid translates into a death within the year. As Stotsky notes, “These statistics do not mean that foreign aid causes violence; but they do raise questions about the effectiveness of using foreign donations to promote moderation and combat terrorism.”

The Palestinian record fits a broader pattern, as noted by Jean-Paul Azam and Alexandra Delacroix in a 2005 article, “Aid and the Delegated Fight Against Terrorism.” They found “a pretty robust empirical result showing that the supply of terrorist activity by any country is positively correlated with the amount of foreign aid received by that country” - i.e., the more foreign aid, the more terrorism.

IF THESE studies run exactly counter to the conventional supposition that poverty, unemployment, repression, “occupation,” and malaise drive Palestinians to lethal violence, they do confirm my long-standing argument about Palestinian exhilaration being the problem. The better funded Palestinians are, the stronger they become, and the more inspired to take up arms.

A topsy-turvy understanding of war economics has prevailed in Israel since the Oslo negotiations began in 1993. Rather than deprive their Palestinian enemies of resources, Israelis have been following Shimon Peres’s mystical musings, and especially his 1993 tome, The New Middle East, to empower them economically. As I wrote in 2001, this “is tantamount to sending the enemy resources while fighting is still under way - not a hugely bright idea.”

Rather than further funding Palestinian bellicosity, Western states, starting with Israel, should cut off all funds to the Palestinian Authority.

* * *
In 2006, the European Union and its member states gave $815 million to the Palestinian Authority! The United States sent it $468 million! When other donors are included, the total receipts come to about $1.5 billion! And the windfall keeps growing!

If you don’t want to be a partner to the Arabs murdering Jews and Christians in the Holy Land (and elsewhere), contact your senator, your representative, and most importantly, U.S. President George W. Bush. Demand that your taxpayer money not be used to fund terrorism!

THE MORE FOREIGN AID TO THE PALESTINIAN AUTHORITY, THE MORE TERRORISM!

Dear friends, Let us continue to fight together against those who are the sworn enemies of Judeo-Christian values and our biblical heritage!

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar

ARE THERE NO LIMITS TO OLMERT’S PERFIDY? 0

Part II

Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, December 13, 2007

Dear Friends,

The most shocking information was transmitted to its readers by Arutz Sheva, Israel National News, last week, December 5, 11:03 PM.

It is essential that you read this article.

JUDEA AND SAMARIA: IDF ROUNDING UP JEWS’ WEAPONS
by Gil Ronen
(IsraelNN.com) The IDF is conducting a large scale operation to confiscate weapons from the Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria, according to Channel 10 TV. The purpose of the operation is described as “putting the settlers’ gun permits in order.”

The security coordinators of the communities in Samaria have been summoned to a meeting with IDF officers Thursday, and community leaders are convinced that the IDF intends to collect many of the weapons in the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Hillel Reinus of Yitzhar said: “I have no idea who is giving the order, it seems to be coming from up high, but they’ve decided to take the weapons away from everyone.”  Another resident of the community, Yigal Amitai, added, “They are abandoning citizens, it is an irresponsibile act, but everything pales compared to reality.”

‘This amounts to making the settlers fair game’
MK Aryeh Eldad (NU/NRP) wrote a letter to Defense Minister Ehud Barak following the report, saying, “Army representatives have recently informed the military security coordinators that they intend to collect most of the weapons which the residents of Judea and Samaria use for self-defense. WHEN A MOVE SUCH AS THIS IS MADE ALONG WITH THE RELEASE OF HUNDREDS OF TERRORISTS, THE DEPLOYMENT OF PALESTINIAN POLICEMEN IN SHECHEM (THREE OF WHOM WERE INVOLVED IN THE MURDER OF IDO ZOLDAN) AND THE ARMING OF THESE POLICEMEN WITH WEAPONS, AMMUNITION AND ARMORED PERSONNEL CARRIERS, THIS AMOUNTS TO MAKING THE SETTLERS FAIR GAME AND SENDING THE TERROR ORGANIZATIONS A CLEAR MESSAGE THAT THEY MAY MURDER JEWS.”
“WHEN ALL THIS IS DONE AGAINST THE BACKDROP OF YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT THAT YOU ARE JOINING THE ‘EXPULSION/COMPENSATION’ PLAN, THIS AMOUNTS TO BLACKMAIL. YOU ARE TRYING TO ENCOURAGE JEWS TO RUN AWAY FROM JUDEA AND SAMARIA, AND IN ORDER TO PROD THEM ALONG YOU ARE TAKING AWAY THEIR WEAPONS AND URGING TERRORISTS TO ATTACK THEM,” he wrote.

“With this letter,” Eldad concluded, “I wish to inform you that the settlers of Judea and Samaria will hold you personally responsible for any casualties among the Jews in Judea and Samaria from now on, unless you immediately put an end to the process of collecting the settlers’ weapons.”

Even more shocking is the following article that appeared two days later, on December 7, in The Jerusalem Post:

Palestinians to finally get 25 armored vehicles
Yaakov Katz, THE JERUSALEM POST
December 7, 2007
Following a slight delay in delivery and despite opposition from within the IDF, Israel will facilitate the transfer of 25 armored personnel carriers next week to Palestinian Authority security forces in Nablus, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert approved the shipment two weeks ago over the objection of his own security forces, which then held up the transfer of the Russian-made armored vehicles after the Palestinians demanded that they be fitted with mounted machine guns.

Olmert’s decision to allow the transfer was made in line with the Israeli policy of strengthening PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and his security forces in the face of Hamas attempts to take over the West Bank like it took control of the Gaza Strip in June.

Defense officials said Thursday that the armored vehicles will be transferred early next week. The vehicles will be transferred into the West Bank via Jordan. They will be deployed in Nablus, where they will be used by the Palestinian police. Defense officials said that while the Palestinians backed down from their demand to have machine guns installed on the vehicles, it was still possible that they would do so unilaterally once the transfer was completed.

“There are heavy machine guns floating around the West Bank and if they want to, there is no real way to stop them from putting the weapons inside the vehicles and taking them out when they want to,” a senior defense official said.

This is the first time the PA will receive armored vehicles since the outbreak of the second intifada in 2000. In 1995, PA security forces in the Gaza Strip received 45 BRDM-2 vehicles, all later destroyed in Israeli air strikes.

The officials said that despite concern within the IDF over the transfer, if needed, it would be easy for Israel to destroy the new armored vehicles. “They do not pose such a threat since, if we would have a need to, it is fairly easy to destroy them from the air,” the official said.

The BRDM-2 is driven by a gasoline engine that also supplies power to a water jet for amphibious travel. It has a crew of four - a driver, codriver, commander and gunner - and is fully protected against small arms fire and artillery shrapnel.

The decision to transfer the armored vehicles came under harsh criticism from right-wing lawmakers who said the move would lead to a further deterioration in Israeli security.

Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu warned last month that the armored vehicles would eventually fall into the hands of Hamas.

Meanwhile Thursday, IDF troops shot and killed two Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip, killing one man and moderately wounding a second, Palestinian medical officials said. The army said it opened fire at two men next to the border fence after they were spotted planting an explosive device.

* * *

Prime Minister Olmert, it has become necessary to ask you once again:

ARE THERE NO LIMITS TO YOUR PERFIDY?

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar
