Is Moetzet Yesha Helping to Establish a Palestinian State in Judea and Samaria? 0

Dear Friends,

Women in Green want to wish all of their friends a happy Pessach.

As the article below shows, there are many struggles awaiting us after this holiday. In fact, Unbelievably, a few hours before the beginning of Shabbat armed forces showed up at the community of Neguhot and forcibly removed a family with their five children from their home who lived in a home they had built and moved into a few months ago on one of the hills of Neguhot in Southern Hevron. At the time of the typing of this email we still don’t know what caused the Olmert government to expel a family from their house a few hours before the beginning of the holiday. We expect all friends of Israel to protest this Pharaoh-like behavior and demand to restore this Jewish family back to their home.

With Love of Israel,

Ruth and Nadia Matar

Is Moetzet Yesha Helping to Establish a Palestinian State in Judea and Samaria?
Nadia Matar

The headline in Maariv, April 15, 2008: "The Quiet Evacuation. Under the nose of the extreme right, without violence, without police, the me’ahaz [outpost settlement] of Mavo Horon was evacuated last night." The writer Roi Sahron reports in the article that Moetzet Yesha (the Council of Jewish Settlements in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) agreed to the evacuation of Mavo Horon North in exchange for building permits elsewhere. In the night between Monday and Tuesday six karavans (mobile housing units) and twenty residents were evacuated. According to the article, additional "evacuation operations" like this are planned, as part of a new me’ahazim agreement.

You read the details of the "deal" between Moetzet Yesha and the government, and you refuse to believe. For anyone who thought that bringing new public figures into Moetzet Yesha would change something, here we have another proof that this is more of the same, just in new getup.

Once again, Moetzet Yesha becomes the implementation arm for the decrees by the destruction and expulsion government. And this is not all: if we thought that there was fatal cooperation between Moetzet Yesha and the government of destruction and ruin only at the time of the Gush Katif and northern Samaria expulsion, the reporter Hagai Huberman reveals to us in an interview to the Basheva newspaper, from April 3, 2008, on the occasion of the publication of his new book Knegged Kol ha-Sikuim (Against All Odds), that even at the end of the Oslo period there were close ties between Moetzet Yesha and the Oslo government. It transpires that the heads of Moetzet Yesha, who, while outwardly forcefully attacked the Oslo accords and even organized demonstrations against them, in private cooperated with the Rabin government, and even aided it in drawing up the withdrawal maps. If this had not been written by a reliable and senior journalist, we would refuse to believe this.

Huberman said in that interview (Basheva, issue no. 287):

"The result is that the settlers determined the withdrawal maps. This was also understood at the time by Rabin, who let Zambish look at the Oslo II maps and make his comments. Actually, Zambish was the only civilian who was permitted to take a look at them. Even some government ministers were denied access. Following Zambish’s comments, corrections were introduced. This was a secret cooperation that was devised between Moetzet Yesha and the government, in the course of the harsh confrontation. Rabin understood that the settlers could be relied on. Despite his being suspicious, the settler heads gave him their word of honor that what he told them in a closed room would not get out. Zambish and Uri Uriel went out to demonstrations and clashed with the authorities, but they did not leak the information."

I must state that Hagai Huberman notes these facts in praise of Zambish, as if the settlement enterprise was saved thanks to this secret cooperation. I read the above paragraph and everything goes black before my eyes. Doesn’t everyone understand that the times have changed, and that every capitulation and surrender broadcasts weakness that invites a further destruction? It could have been - and this, too, requires further discussion - that in the 1970s and even in the 1980s, at the beginning of the renewed settlement in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, when everything was moving up, with building everywhere, that it was worthwhile for the settlers to make "tactical deals" with the various governments. It could be argued that, then, those were governments that looked favorably upon, or at least did not vigorously oppose, the idea of the renewal of Jewish settlement in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. It was still possible to make deals with those governments that would advance the Jewish settlement enterprise in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza.

But since Oslo, everything has changed. From Oslo to now, Israel has been ruled by governments that have championed the total elimination of the Jewish settlement undertaking in Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza District. This is not because the leftist governments believe that this will lead to peace with the Arab enemy, but because the left hopes that the eradication of the settlements in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza will, once and for all, result in the smashing of the Jewish-national camp in Israel. Consequently, it is not important if this will harm the general interest of the people of Israel in its land; since Oslo, the leftist governments have been eager to dismantle the settlement enterprise in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, in order to return us to the ‘67 lines.

In such a situation, doesn’t Moetzet Yesha understand that there is nothing to talk about with such people? We must not make any deals with such people. And not to mention the informational issue: just how can Moetzet Yesha explain to the public that evacuation, capitulation, and surrender deals are not to be made in order to "cut our losses" with America and the evil PLO Authority, when Moetzet Yesha itself does this with the Olmert government? Don’t they understand that, with such a destructive government, a stubborn and vigorous struggle for every karavan and every stone is more important, even at the cost of the destruction of the site, than a thousand promises of building permits - promises that will soon be revealed to be worthless, due to the secret agreement that is being hammered out between Olmert-Livni-Abu Mazen and Condi Rice, for the establishment of a Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria and part of Jerusalem?

First of all, we must state outright that we do not trade with Eretz Israel. Period. Just as a mother will not agree to put her baby to death in order to try and save the rest of her children, we, too, must refuse to waive a single grain of the land of Eretz Israel. This must be a matter of principle. Second, an unrelenting and sincere struggle, without deals or haggling, for every karavan and every hill will broadcast a clear message to the authorities, that they will no longer succeed in moving us with dancing and kissing, as happened in Gush Katif.

Here, it would be appropriate to ask several questions: if, according to Huberman’s sensational revelation, towards the end of the negotiations during the Oslo period, Zambish and other Moetzet Yesha members cooperated in complete secrecy with Yitzhak Rabin, and together they drew the maps … what is happening now, in 2008? Now, too, are the Moetzet Yesha people sitting with Olmert and Livni and, quietly, quietly, helping Olmert to establish the Palestinian state? Now, too, as in the time of Oslo, are Zambish and his friends promising the government to maintain total secrecy regarding the catastrophic agreement that is being formulated?

And another question that inflames my heart and mind: was there also a secret deal between Moetzet Yesha and the Sharon government that said: "We will help you to eliminate Gush Katif and northern Samaria, in exchange for building permits in Gush Etzion"? Who knows if, in private, they didn’t tell Sharon: "We will organize grandiose but pathetic demonstrations in Rabin Square. We will not break out from Kfar Maimon. We will censure the roadblockers and those who call to refuse orders, to ensure that you will be able to uproot Gush Katif and northern Samaria … in exchange for building permits in Ariel"? Who can promise us that there was no such deal?

In another six months, will the heads of Moetzet Yesha turn to the residents of Beit El, Ofra, Har Brachah, and Tekoa, and attempt to convince them to quietly evacuate these settlements, in exchange for building permits in Maaleh Edumim and western Gush Etzion? If the people in Moetzet Yesha are capable of doing this in Mavo Horon North, that was a eight year old settlement of twenty inhabitants, why shouldn’t they do this to a settlement with a population of two thousand? Who would have believed that Moetzet Yesha would be a partner to the divide-and-conquer policy that was used by our bitter enemies when they cunningly proposed: "Sacrifice group A of Jews in order to save group B of Jews," when the enemy intends, from the outset, to eliminate both group A and group B.

The good news is that, thank God, since Moetzet Yesha’s deception of the public, mainly at Kfar Maimon, a considerable portion of the national public has sobered up, and realizes that we cannot rely upon Moetzet Yesha. They no longer represent the public. Since the expulsion from Gush Katif and northern Samaria, a new generation of the inhabitants of Judea and Samaria has arisen, including tens of thousands of young people, who no longer are subject to the authority of Moetzet Yesha, and, incidentally, neither to the authority of the rabbis who, too, suffer from the sickness of "excessive mamlakhtiyut" (state orientation) and the desire to curry favor with the left, at the expense of Eretz Israel.

With God’s help, this new generation of healthy Jews who are totally loyal to the Land of Israel and the Torah of Israel will ensure that, this time, Moetzet Yesha will not succeed in again betraying the people, the land, and the Torah. In spite of the Olmert-Livni-Condi and Zambish band, these Jews have already succeeded in infusing our camp with a new spirit, whether  by the establishment of new settlement points in Judea and Samaria, or by the continued presence in Homesh. I assume, and hope, that at this moment a new settlement attempt is being planned for Mavo Horon, in order to expunge and rectify the disgrace of Tuesday’s evacuation by Moetzet Yesha.

By the merit of these Jews, the successors of Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun, thank God, we can already say today: Woe to anyone who will dare to harm Eretz Israel!

ISRAEL, AN EVANGELIST PASTOR, AND A REFORM RABBI 0

Letter from Ruth Matar (Women in Green) Jerusalem
Thursday, April 10, 2008

Dear Friends,

This letter of mine from Jerusalem reads like a play, a theatrical performance with a plot, with actors, and with hopefully a happy ending.

These are principal actors:

1.     PEACE NOW

Peace Now is a left-wing non-governmental organization in Israel. Its agenda is to convince the Israeli government that the only possibility to achieve peace with the Arabs is based on the formula "Israeli land for peace."

2.     BARGHOUTI

Headline in the Jerusalem Post: "Barghouti Sends Message to Peace Now on Group’s 30th Anniversary"

Jailed terrorist leader Marwan Barghouti called for a comprehensive cease-fire and affirmed his support for a two state solution in a message he sent to Israelis on the eve of Peace Now’s 30th anniversary event.

This is the same Barghouti who is still in an Israeli jail serving five life sentences for his involvement in terror attacks that killed numerous Israelis.

To attain peace now- notwithstanding what the Palestinians are saying or doing- has always required the group to almost willfully disregard the unpleasant realities of the Arab-Israeli conflict.  Its emphasis is exclusively on what Israelis should concede, as if our collective craving for peace alone can supernaturally overcome Palestinian intransigence, incitement, internal upheaval, and the culture of violence.

The Jerusalem Post editorial writer maintains that "most Israelis are reconciled to a Palestinian state."  [RM:  This is absolutely
untrue!  More than half of Israel’s Jewish and Arab populations believe that the two communities are not on good terms and that
relations are likely to deteriorate in the future, according to the annual Arab-Jewish Relations Index for 2007.]

According to the index, which assesses Jewish-Arab relations in Israel, 62 percent of the Jewish public expressed concerns that the
local Arab population would eventually engage in civil disobedience, with 64% saying they refused to enter Arab towns.

3.     YULI TAMIR

Another prominent person in the Peace Now organization is Yuli Tamir. She is, in fact, one of the founders of Peace Now. She is
presently the Education Minister in Ehud Olmert’s Kadima-led coalition government. Yuli Tamir is outspokenly anti-religious. She
has drastically cut the religious education budget.

One of the most incredible decisions of Yuli Tamir was to have her ministry approve a school text describing the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948 as ‘Nakba,’ or catastrophe, for use in Israeli-Arab schools!

Yisrael Beitenu chairman Avigdor Lieberman slammed this decision of Tamir, calling it an example of the Israeli left-wing’s "political masochism."  Knesset state control chairman Zevulun Orlev commanded that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert fire Tamir immediately, which Olmert declined to do.

Yuli Tamir helped organize the first Peace Now rally in Rabin Square in 1978. Peace Now has grown over the last 30 years. It has become known particularly for its work in tracking and publicizing settlement activity.  Yuli Tamir uses this information to prevent new settlements. This work is funded by the European Union and, unfortunately, by some misguided American Jews.

4.     PASTOR JOHN HAGEE

Hagee is the President and CEO of John Hagee Ministries, which telecasts his national radio and television ministry carried in
America on 160 TV stations, fifty radio stations and eight networks including The Inspiration Network (INSP) and Trinity Broadcasting Network. The ministries can be seen and heard weekly in 99 million homes. John Hagee Ministries is in Canada on the Miracle Channel and CTS and can be seen in Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and is in most third world nations.

He is also the president and CEO of Global Evangelism Television, which telecasts his radio and television ministry. Hagee has received numerous honors and accolades from national Jewish organizations for his unwavering support of Israel. In pursuit of his support of Israel, Hagee, along with 400 leaders from the Christian and Jewish communities, formed Christians United for Israel (CUFI) on February 7, 2006. This organization is focused on communicating the need to defend Israel, in light of Biblically based matters, with members of the United States Congress.

Hagee has denounced replacement theology; he believes the Bible commands Christians to support Israel and the Jewish people.

Because the territory of what is now Israel, Gaza and the West Bank was ruled by the Ottoman Turks prior to World War I, then controlled by the British, and later partitioned under United Nations mandate, Hagee argues that the land does not belong to the Arabs. The name Palestine (deriving from the ancient Philistines) was imposed by the Roman emperor Hadrian to punish the Jews for their revolt against Rome. Hagee maintains there is no Palestinian language, no historic Palestinian nation: most people claiming to be Palestinians immigrated from other Arab states.

Hagee says that Iran will never respond favorably to diplomacy and is a threat to Western civilization. To eliminate Iran’s alleged nuclear programme, he supports an American-Israeli pre-emptive military strike.  Hagee supports the Neo-Conservative movement in the United States.

The San Antonio B’nai B’rith Council awarded Hagee with its "Humanitarian of the Year" award. It was the first time this award
was given to a gentile. Hagee was presented the ZOA Israel Award by U.N. Ambassador Jean Kirkpatrick. This award was given by the Jewish Community of Dallas, Texas. He was presented the ZOA Service Award by Texas Governor Mark White. Houston Mayor Kathy Whitmire issued a special proclamation in his honor declaring Pastor John C. Hagee Day.

Hagee has been to Israel twenty-two times and has met with every Prime Minister since Menachem Begin. John Hagee Ministries has given more than $8.5 million to bring Soviet Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel. Hagee is the Founder and Executive Director of "A Night to Honor Israel", an event which expresses solidarity between Christians and Jews on behalf of Jerusalem, the State of Israel and the United States.

5. ERIC H. YOFFIE

Eric Yoffie is the president of the Union for Reform Judaism, the congregational arm of the Reform Jewish movement in North America.

On August 31, 2007, Rabbi Yoffie gave remarks at the Islamic Society of North America’s 44th annual convention in Chicago, Illinois.  He states that, "the time has come to listen to our Muslim neighbors speak, from their heart and in their own words, about the spiritual power of Islam and their own religion."

Yoffie urged Jewish organizations not to cooperate with Hagee’s Christian Zionists arguing that they hurt Israel’s interests. Yoffie claimed that Hagee and his followers are opposed to a two state solution, thereby diminishing chances for peace between Israelis and Palestinians.

Pastor Hagee’s answer to Rabbi Yoffie was as follows: "Our opinions aside, Israel is a free country. CUFI’s fundamental philosophy from day one has been that Israelis and Israelis alone have the right to make existential decisions about land and peace.  The only lobbying I did on that issue was to try to persuade the US government not to pressure Israel into adopting policies it was reluctant to carry out."

It is most painful to realize that the Christian Pastor sees Israel’s situation more clearly than does the Jewish Rabbi.

With Blessings and Love for Israel,

Ruth Matar

Upcoming Activities 0

Dear Friends,

The bad news is known to all: Olmert and his gang have capitulated this week more than ever and this in order to please Condoleezza Rice. The list of concessions made to the Arab enemy is mind boggling. The Olmert government has approved the creation of two new Arab cities next to Ramallah. Jews are not allowed to build a patio in their homeland, but Arabs who should be expelled to Saudi Arabia for striving to destroy the State of Israel and supporting the massacre of Jews, they receive from Olmert the OK to build two new cities near the communities of Ofra and Migron (20 minutes away from Jerusalem)- thus endangering all the Jewish communities in Binyamin and Jerusalem even more.

If that were not enough, Olmert gave approval to take down 50 checkpoints, now enabling Arabs to commute unhindered from Ramallah to Jericho.

To read the entire list of concessions and capitulations you can click on the Arutz 7 news article:
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/125746

The good news is that little by little the People are waking up to the fact that we do not need to take these decrees lying down.

A few events happened in the last few days that once again confirm the fact that there is a new spirit in the national camp. A spirit of Jewish pride and willingness to fight for our Homeland.

A couple days ago, the residents of Har Bracha in Samaria woke up to the news that tens of security cars, army and police jeeps and bulldozers were on their way to Har Bracha to come and destroy a few foundations for caravans. Condoleezza was in the country and Olmert needed to show her that in addition to concessions to the Arabs, that he was also making sure Jews should not be able to expand and build.

The Har Bracha residents understood that now is the time to fight for every brick and every foundation. They quickly made many phone calls and text messages, urging people to leave work, studies, yeshiva and come to protect the place. Hundreds of Jews arrived within a very short time and bodily surrounded the place. It was a success. Olmert’s destruction forces could not reach the place and withdrew.

Yesterday, ther was a similar story. This time it was next to Kedumim, at the outpost of Shvut Ami, created last Sukkot by Loyalists of the Land of Israel and the Youth for the Land of Israel and others, including Women in Green.

Army and police forces came in the morning to (once again) evacuate the youth living in the outpost. This kind of activity happens often. Security forces arrive, expel the Jews and the Jews come back a few hours later. But this time the story was different. After the army and police cleaned the outpost of its Jews, it allowed a large group of Arabs, leftists and international anarchists to take over the place, claiming that the place really belongs to Arabs!  We could simply not believe it! To see the Israeli Army and police on the side of anti-semitic enemies was a most distressing scene.

Within minutes we sent emergency beepers, emails and phone calls to hundreds of youth who ran to the place. Not only youth but many adults, mainly from Kedumim, showed up too. A battle ensued. The army beat up the Jews and tried to help the leftists and the Arabs but in the end the Jews had the upper hand and managed to expel the Arabs, the leftists, the anarchists and the police and security forces. At the end of the day, the outpost of Shvut Ami returned to Jewish hands.

Those are just two stories of many more events that are taking place in the last few weeks in which we see a similar pattern: the Israeli Civil Administration, army forces and police forces join with the Arabs and encourage them to take over land that belongs to the Jews.

Yes, sadly we can say that the Israeli authorities are trying to help the Arabs to build a Palestinian State but, thank G–d, the people are waking up and are resisting. We need all the help of friends in Israel and abroad to support those active for the land of Israel to make it possible for us to increase our activities.
