Dear Friends,

Almost a week has passed since the outrageous decision by the Supreme Court to allow the eviction of the Jews from Bet Hashalom in Hevron.

It is interesting to clarify though that the Supreme Court did not "order" the eviction but rather wrote that the Jewish occupants "may" be removed. The media and the Kadima government members then misled the public into thinking that the Supreme Court "ordered" the evacuation of the Jews.

This important nuance was explained by Yaakov Turkel, a former Supreme Court justice in an interview to Arutz 7. For more info on what he said please click on:  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/128512

In light of these clarifications, it appears that Public Security Minister Avi Dichter of Kadima did not read the ruling when he said: "The ruling is not a recommendation, and we will implement it exactly as it is written", promising that "within 30 days, no Jew would be living in the disputed building". "We have no intention of straying from the Supreme Court ruling which is the law".

This is the time to once and for all burst the bubble of the "law-abiding government". As outgoing Kiryat Arba mayor Zvi Katzover said last week at the emergency assembly to save Bet Hashalom:
The intention of the government to expel the Jews from Bet Hashalom has nothing to do with the law. If this government really cared about "the law", then thousands of illegal Arab buildings, houses, fields etc.. would not exist. The government would have prevented them from being built. Arabs build illegally all over Judea and Samaria, the Negev and the Galil and this government does nothing to stop them. On the other hand, Jews who legally purchased a house, paying over a million dollars, are meant to be expelled. This has nothing to do with the rule of the law. This has to do with the fact that we have a extreme left, anti-Zionist Kadima government who hates the proud Jewish pioneers in Judea and Samaria and will do all they can to crush and persecute them in the hope that this will give them some votes in the upcoming elections.

Women in Green are actively taking part in the Action Committee to save Bet Hashalom. We urge you to take part in the activities described below, the Tuesday events and the Wednesday Women in Green chizuk trip to Bet Hashalom.

Women in Green are also the driving force behind another important struggle: the struggle for a Jewish Shdema. See details below and join us on Fridays in Shdema.

Lastly but most importantly, see below more details about a new toll free number to call the White House and demand Jonathan Pollards release.

Many people ask us: what can we do to help when we live abroad and or when we cannot actively come to Bet Hashalom or Shdema or the hilltops. The answer is simple: Be a partner in the struggle for the Land of Israel by helping us financially. All those struggles and hasbara efforts cost lots and lots of monies. UPCOMING ACTIVITIES:

1) TUESDAY MORNING NOVEMBER 25th, 2008 (tommorrow)- MARCHING TO BET HASHALOM
Marches from around the country to Bet Hashalom in Hevron organized by the Youth for the Land of Israel
The marches will leave at 11:00am from Teddy Stadium in Malcha, Jerusalem and from the Masmiya intersection.
For more details please call: 052-3115596 or 052-3114627 or 054-6308480

2) TUESDAY EVENING NOVEMBER 25th (also tommorrow)- DEMONSTRATION FOR JEWISH PRISONERS
At a time when President Shimon Peres continues to release hundreds of Arab terrorists as a "sign of goodwill" to the Arab enemy, we cannot stay silent. We must demand to release the 17 political Jewish prisoners in jail. Those 17 prisoners have sat in jail enough and even in jail are being harassed. They cannot receive visits from their families. They do not get time out of jail like all other prisoners receive. They should at least receive the basic human rights that any prisoner deserve and usually gets.

The public is asked to come to a demonstration on TUESDAY NOVEMBER 25th (Tommorrow) at 6:00pm in front of the PRESIDENT’S HOUSE IN JERUSALEM (Jabotinsky street) and strengthen the families of the 17 prisoners.
Rabbis and public figures will take part.
For details and transportation please call 052-6051165
Sponsored by: Honenu - HaLev HaYehudi- Chomesh Tehilla- Komemiyut- Chazit Yehudit- The Sanhedrin- Women in Green- Youth for the Land of Israel

3) WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 26th,2008- WOMEN IN GREEN CHIZUK TRIP TO BET HASHALOM
One of the ways to prevent the expulsion is to do all we can to have as many people as possible in and around Bet Hashalom at any time of the day or night. All yeshivot, ulpanot, synagogues, organizations must organize themselves to come, in groups and stay at Bet Hashalom as long as they can.

Women in Green will go to Bet Hashalom as a group this coming Wednesday and we urge you to join us for a special morning. We will leave the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem at 9:00am and spend the morning in Bet Hashalom.
We will enjoy a lecture by Prof. Esther Bet Halachmi and meet with the residents of the house.
Please call Anita ASAP to reserve seats on the bus 050-5777254

4) FRIDAY, ROSH CHODESH KISLEV, NOVEMBER 28,2008- in SHDEMA

This past Friday, Atty Elyakim Haetzni gave a lecture in the ERETZ YISRAEL CULTURAL CENTER OF SHDEMA

Some 15 people attended his fascinating lecture on the dangers and meaning of the creation of a Palestinian State in Judea and Samaria.

In addition, two groups of supporters from the USA also joined us, at the same time in Shdema.
Both groups were going to Hevron for Shabbat Chaye Sara, had heard about our struggle for a Jewish Shdema and decided to come and show support.

One group was from AFSI (some 20 people) and the other group (some 40 people) was led by Yossi Baumol representative for the Hebron Jewish Community. If anyone on this email list belongs to that group we want to say: Thank you for coming. it gave us a lot of chizuk and it proved to the authorities that the struggle for a Jewish Shdema is spreading. Any other groups planning to come to Israel please have Shdema on your itinerary.

This coming Friday Rosh Chodesh Kislev, at 9:30am in SHDEMA, we will please G-d have a shiur on Parashat shavua by Rabbi Yaron Durani, Rabbi of El David Nokdim.

To see the pictures of our Friday event please click on: (PICTURES BY RIVKA RYBACK)
http://www.yeshabulletin.com/FIGHT%20BACK/FightBack.htm

We would like to remind all how important those weekly events are at Shdema. As you know, different international groups are trying to help the Arabs to take away Shdema from Israel. One of those groups is a group of architects who spend their time planning the destruction of the entire settlement enterprise (they call it "decolonizing"). They draw plans as to how they wish they could destroy our homes and communities. One of the places they focus on is Shdema (which they call Oush Grab).

Just click on the following link and you will see how annoyed they are at our activities in Shdema, which should give us strength and even more determination to continue the struggle for a Jewish Shdema.

Beit HaShalom 0

Dear Friends,

The Bet Hashalom residents in Kiryat Arba Hevron asked us to post a special thanks to the hundreds of supporters from around the country, among them tens of Women in Green, who came last night, by bus and by private cars, to the emergency meeting in Kiryat Arba. They told us how moved they were and their hearts were warmed to see the incredible support from all over Israel. Indeed, people travelled all the way from the North, from Tel Aviv, Raanana, Jerusalem, Efrat, Gush Etzion, and other places to attend.

Below please find a detailed account of what happened, what is planned for the next days and weeks and what you can do to help, written by Women in Green members who are also members of the United action Committee to save Bet Hashalom.

For beautiful pictures of the event and of the large crowd, taken by Marcia Fremont please click on:

With Love for Israel,

———————————————

The meeting was a great success with over 1000 people attending!

The message was very clear: Bet Hashalom was bought legally, it belongs to the Jewish owners, we are not moving and we are going to fight over it.

The event took place in the huge sports hall. On the wall hung a huge banner with a picture of Bet Hashalom on which it said (in Hebrew):
FROM THE CAVE OF THE PATRIARCHS THROUGH BEIT HASHALOM:
WE CONTINUE OUR FATHER ABRAHAM’S HOLDING IN HEBRON

At the main table were among others:
Rabbi Dov Lior, Rabbi Zalman Melamed, Rabbi Moshe Levinger, Rabbi Druckman from Kiryat Motzkin, Rabbi Waldman, Rabbi Wolpo, Rabbi Shlomo Ben Hamu, Mk Uri Ariel (National Union), MK Arieh Eldad (Hatikva), MK Otniel Shneller (Kadima), former Likud MK Ayub Kara, outgoing Kiryat Arba mayor Zvi Katzover, incoming Kiryat Arba mayor Malachi Levinger, Mendy Safedi (Druse leader who fought against the expulsion from Gush Katif and called upon the soldiers to refuse the order to expel Jews). Noam Arnon, spokesman of the Jewish community in Hebron was the MC. We also want to point out MK Nissim Zeev from Shas and congratulate him for moving, with some of his children, into Bet Hashalom and opening an office there.

Orit Struck from Hebron gave an overview of the legal aspects of the house. A short film was shown in which we clearly see the Arab getting paid huge sums of money for the house and afterwards there was a short recording in which the Arab clearly admitted he sold the house to the Jews.

From all the amazing speakers we would like to point out a few:
* Rabbi Zalman Melamed gave the most practical advice as how to prevent the expulsion from Bet Hashalom. He called upon all soldiers and policemen to refuse the order. No soldier or policeman should give a hand to this immoral anti-Jewish act. If policemen are worried about losing their job, instead of actually refusing the order, they can simply faint on the day of the expulsion and thus not take part in the crime.

* Former Druze Mk Ayub Kara who came all the way from the Galilee to attend the meeting, spoke with passion about his commitment to work for the people and the Land of Israel. He received a standing ovation. Sadly very few Jewish MK’s have the guts to speak the way he spoke. He clearly stated that the Kadima party is a danger to the Jewish People and that Tzippy Livni is not good for the Jews, Tzippy Livni is good for Hamas.

* MK Arieh Eldad called upon Bibi Netanyahu to speak out and to commit, already now, that when he becomes Prime Minister in a few months, that he will not give a hand to all the expulsion decrees of the Olmert government but rather will encourage the expansion of Bet Hashalom and the rest of the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. He also warned that if G-d forbid the government goes ahead with its criminal plans to expel the Jews from Bet Hashalom, we will all yearn for the days of Amona.

The most exciting part of the evening, to prove that we are not only talking but rather acting: At the end of the evening we all accompanied by foot the four families, with their mattresses, furniture, etc., who moved into Bet Hashalom and added themselves to the already existing families there.

The evening was uplifting and moving and marked the official beginning of the struggle for Bet Hashalom.

How do we continue? What were the down to earth instructions?
The message is clear: as long as there are many Jews in and around Bet Hashalom, the authorities will think twice whether it is worth it for them to evacuate the place. So from this morning on (Wednesday) we must all make sure to come to Bet Hashalom with as many people as possible. Some can stay for half an hour and those who can should stay for half a day or a full day or whatever you can do. This coming Shabbat is Shabbat Chaye Sara (how ironic) in which we read about Abraham buying the Cave of the Patriarchs and thousands of Jews will spend Shabbat in Kiryat Arba Hevron.

Over the next days and weeks high schools, yeshivot and ulpanot must organize buses to bring their students there and hold their classes in Bet Hashalom.

In addition: public pressure must be high to protest the intention to evict Bet Hashalom. Bombard with faxes and phone calls all MK’s and urge them to stop the eviction of Bet Haashalom. All Mk’s emails, fax and phone numbers can be found at: http://www.knesset.gov.il/mk/eng/mkindex_current_eng.asp

Most important is to send faxes of protest to Defense Minister Ehud Barak who is the one who ultimately decides whether to expel the Jews or not. We must make it clear to him that on the eve of elections, the last thing he needs is another Amona.
Ehud Barak - tel 972-3-6976663
             fax: 972-3-6976218
             email: pniot@mod.gov.il

Send copies to the President: to fax 972-2-6707265

Abroad:
Fax and call the Israeli embassies and consulates with one single messsage:
"Bet Hashalom in Hevron belongs to the Jews. Do not dare expel the Jews from Bet Hashalom."
Every fax, every phone call makes a difference. Emails are less taken seriously.
For the list of all Israeli Embassies in the world: http://www.science.co.il/Embassy.asp

Tachles, in one word, a massive Jewish presence and lots of public pressure can please G-d prevent the eviction order from being given at all. It is of utmost importance that we all act.

If G-d forbid they still plan to evict Bet Hashalom, we must prepare ourselves to, on a minute’s notice, drop all we are doing and rush to defend Bet Hashalom.

To receive quick updates by SMS please register by sending the words (in Hebrew), etzion hafel, to number 1315 and you will get SMS in Hebrew with all the latest updates on Bet Hashalom and other struggles for Eretz Yisrael. Each SMS you get costs half a shekel.

B”H     19 Cheshvan 5769     November 17, 2008

FROM THE CAVE OF THE PATRIARCHS TO BEIT HASHALOM:
CONTINUING OUR FATHER ABRAHAM’S HOLDING IN HEBRON

The Israeli Supreme Court ruled yesterday that the residents of Bet HaShalom in Hebron have three days to evacuate their legally purchased homes.

For thousands of years, Jews have bought houses and fields in Eretz Yisrael — even the Ottoman Empire didn’t deny them that basic right.  It has taken a post-Zionist, post-Oslo Israeli government working hand in hand with a hopelessly politicized judicial system to adopt a racist policy of preventing Jews from buying and holding property in the Jewish homeland.

The rights of the Jewish People in Hebron are not subject to debate.  They are eternal rights that are thousands of years old.  Whoever denies Jews the right to buy property in Hebron, weakens their rights everywhere in the Land of Israel.

The struggle over Beit HaShalom is:

* a struggle for justice over land legally purchased,
* a struggle over the Jewish and human right to acquire property,
* a struggle over the rights of the Jewish Nation in the Land of Israel

The battle over Beit HaShalom is therefore the battle of every Jew.

Upcoming Activities 0

Dear Friends,

As we are writing this email, the results of the municipal elections are slowly coming in. Let’s pray that all elected mayors will work for the benefit of the Jewish People in the Land of Israel. Now we need to focus on the national elections and make sure that Kadima and the Labor party will be overthrown and that the National camp will finally be able to come to power. Obviously what is needed is one very strong party to the right of the Likud that will force the Likud to stick to its platform and not betray us again and again as it has in the past. More on the upcoming elections in coming emails.

In addition to prepare for a political come back of the right, now, more than ever, is the time to step up the struggles for places in Eretz Yisrael that are in danger of falling into the Arab enemy’s hands.

One such place, as you know, is SHDEMA, the abandoned army camp on the Har Choma - Gush Etzion road. For the past few months the members of the Committee for a Jewish Shdema and Women in Green have been at the forefront of the struggle to keep Shdema in Jewish hands and make sure the Arabs do not get the area as they are trying to, in order to build an Arab neighborhood there and thus take away from us even more Jewish land.

We have been going up to Shdema every Friday to keep a Jewish presence there.

JOIN US THIS COMING FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14th, at 9:30am in SHDEMA, in the fields of Bethlehem, for a moving and meaningful morning not to be missed.

Tuesday’s Elections 0

Dear Friends,

As you know, this coming Tuesday there will be municipal elections in Israel.

Kol Hakavod to Suzy Dym from Mattot Arim who has done extensive research about many cities in Israel and has prepared a list of all the candidates who were in favor of the expulsion - disengagement. Now is the time to give them their deserved punishment and make sure they do not come to power. Not out of pleasure to punish them but rather for survival’s sake. Any person who was in favor of the expulsion and G-d forbid will come to power as a mayor will be harmful to Israel, for those people will most probably also be in favor of the creation of a PLO State. As Suzy says in her Hebrew mail (the English is more abridged), the one and only issue that must interest us in the upcoming elections is the issue of the candidate’s position about Eretz Yisrael. Is the candidate in favor of a PLO State or not? Was he in favor of the expulsion or not?

AS you know, the voting is a vote with two separate papers. One paper is a vote for the mayor. The other paper is a vote for the list to the council.  When deciding which list to vote for in Jerusalem, we strongly suggest to give your vote to Arieh King who is on the Ichud Leumi-Mafdal list (letters TET BET). Arieh King is the quiet force behind all the settlement activity in Jerusalem and he represents the best the issue of Eretz Yisrael.

About whom to vote for as mayor in Jerusalem, I personally agree with Suzy that in Jerusalem the candidate that most probably will represent Eretz Yisrael the best is Meir Porush. But I must be honest and say that I know that opinions in Women in Green differ on this issue and thus this is my personal opinion and not the official position of Women in Green.

Please pass on this list to all friends and family members around the country.

With Love for Israel,

Nadia Matar
Women in Green

————————————————————————————–

From Mattot Arim, Suzy Dym:

The local elections on Tuesday are extremely important. Please vote. For those who know that Eretz Yisrael is a crucial topic, here is what you need to know about pro-Eretz Yisrael candidates (usually such candidates are also better for the city — experience shows that whoever is in favor of a Palestinian state also BEHAVES like a Palestinian state…).

Acco: Lankri was in favor of the disengagement. He  is very bad for us. Do not vote for him. Some national religious peole say they will vote for him. Tell them to first get from him a written letter that he opposes the creation of a PLO State. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Ashdod: Dr. Yehiel Lasri running with Yehuda Frankel are better for us than Zvi Zilker. Zvi Zilker was in favor of the gerush.

Ashkelon: Roni Mahatzri is very bad for us.He was in favor of the expulsion. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Bat Yam: Vote for Uri Buskila, probably running only for city council. He is outstanding. Tet-Bet is the name of the list.

Beer Sheva: Yaakov Terner of Kadima is a poor candidate for us. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Bet Shemesh: Shalom Lerner is an excellent mayoral candidate. Vote for him, help him. Make sure Daniel Vaknin who was in favor of the expulsion, does not get in.

Givat Shmuel: Zamir Ben-Ari is very bad for us. He was in favor of the gerush. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Haifa: Yona Yahav is very bad for us.Also Rami Levy is bad.  Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Herzlia: The current mayor is from meretz and was in favor of he gerush. Yaron Olami running for mayor and Zvi Weiss running for Moatza in the Tet-Bet list are both excellent. Please help them and vote for them.

Jerusalem:

Porush has more solid Eretz Yisrael views that either Nir Barkat or Gaidamak. Safest therefore to vote for Porush

*Nir Barkat was the head of the Kadima branch in Jerusalem. His positions re a Palestinian State are not known.

* Gaidamaks views re Judea and Samaria are not known either.

*Porush voted against the disengagement . In the current Knesset he worked hard to make a coalition against "chok pinui-pitzui 2"

It seems that he candidate that will represent Erets Israel the best is Porush.

*Ygal Amedi was in favor of disengagement. Dont vote for him.

Kiryat Malachi: Vote AGAINST Moti Malka who is very bad for us.Malka is a Kadima man, appears in the list of mayors who voted for the disengagement. Sadly it seems that Chabad is supporting him, Chabad -please reconsider! Listen to our brothers from GK who beg you all not to give Malka your vote.  Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Maaleh Adumim: Gidon Ariel running for city council is excellent for us.Known activist for erets Israel. Vote for him, help him.

Naharia: Jackie Sabag is a poor candidate for us.He is from Kadima. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Natzrat Ililt: Shimon Gapsu is great. Please help him and vote for him.

Netanya: Miriam Feirberg has a mixed record — against Oslo, in favor of disenagement — we call on her to clarify her position re Palestinian state (which will put Netanya into rocket range) - Miriam, are you for or against?

Ramat Gan: Zvi Bar is very anti Eretz-Yisrael. Was in favor of gerush. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Ramle: Yoel Lavi is from Kadima and is very anti Eretz-Yisrael. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Rishon leZion: Vote AGAINST Meir Nitzan who is a Kadima candidate. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Rehovot: Vote for Hananya Weinberger or Uzi Salant, good candidates, in order to defeat Shuki Forer who is very bad for Eretz Yisrael.

Tel-Mond: Shlomo Ratzabi, current mayor, is very bad for us.Favored the disengagement. Please vote for the most realistic candidate running against him.

Please not only vote as per the above but ask your friends to do the same. If you will talk to them you will find many who were not going to bother to vote.

The above suggestions are based on our 15 year experience re candidates and parties which have consistently adopted positions that are good for the public even when these positions are unpopular (like: refusing to jump on the disengagement bandwagon despite huge pressure from the government). We are not associated with any political party and do not get money or appointments from any parties and our recommendations are based ONLY on our observations as to which candidates and lists are pro-Eretz Yisrael in orientation. In Israel, like it or not  — municipal politics crucially affects national politics. Safety first -  if mayors are elected who are pro-Palestinian, our chances for defeating Palestinian state are very slim. So, please vote  as above and get your friends to vote.

General: Any local candidate (from any party) who goes public saying he is opposed to Palestinian state as it will endanger his own city — vote for him.
